Elbrus Summit

Posted by

Elbrus SummitWe just returned from a very successful expedition to the summit of Mt. Elbrus.

Thanks to your generosity, we raised over $8,600. This puts us well past our goal of $7,400, which we increased to provide additional support to the Climb for Cancer Foundation.

On August 7, we had weather on our side and were able to carry the Climb for Cancer banner to the summit of the tallest mountain in Europe.

In addition, Mike Kosel, Chris Nichols and I were lucky enough to have a chance to raise the banner on the east summit (just 40 feet lower than the west summit), and we made it just before the weather hit. During our descent, we encountered whiteout conditions and some tricky terrain but managed to find our way back to the safety of high camp just before a major hailstorm hit.

Every step of the way, I was inspired by the many stories you told me about how cancer has touched your lives and by the knowledge that your generous contributions are already helping in the battle against this dreaded disease.

Until then, may your life be filled with love, laughter and plenty of new adventures.

All the best,

Dave
