Live to Give helps people pursue life passions and support their favorite causes.  Our mission is to encourage people to test the limits of their abilities and give back to those less fortunate.

Live to Give is dedicated to the memory of Patrick Brandt, who lost a courageous battle with brain cancer on March 2, 2008.  Pat’s motto: “live life, give love” is the inspiration for our name and our mission.

During his 37 years, Pat lived life to the fullest and gave of himself every day, in every way.  Throughout his lengthy battle with cancer, Pat was a loving husband, a caring father, a dedicated friend and an inspiration to all he touched.  And he never stopped setting goals and taking action to achieve them.  The day he died, he was one of the top salespeople in his company and a dedicated supporter of the Relay for Life (American Cancer Society).

Live to Give was founded by David Goehl.   After losing his mother to melanoma and witnessing Pat’s battle, David found a way to combine his thirst for adventure and love of sports with his desire to help people touched by cancer.

Inspired by Pat’s spirited life and the stories of so many others, David has since raised tens of thousands of dollars by climbing several mountains including continental high points in North America (Denali), South America (Aconcagua), Antarctica (Vinson), Europe (Elbrus), Australia (Kosciuszko), and Africa (Kilimanjaro).  As David continues his personal quest, he hopes that Live to Give, through its stories and support of others, will continue to inspire people to push the limits of their abilities while they help those less fortunate.
